Test Results

Test Results

Please call between 11:30 and 17:00 to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times. As a guide to the waiting times for some of the more common tests, blood tests take a minimum of 3 days, X-rays may take 3-4 weeks and cervical smears can take 4-6 weeks.

For patients that have been asked to provide a specimen please hand these in to reception before 2pm.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.

Queries/Questions about your results

Home Visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it is helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible.

Sick (fit) Notes

If you have been off sick for more than 7 days

To request a sick note please phone or visit the surgery from 10am to 6pm.

If you have been off sick for 7 days or less

If you have been off work for 7 days or less, your employer should not ask you for medical evidence that you have been ill. Instead, they can ask you to confirm that you have been ill. You can do this by filling in a form yourself when you return to work. We call this self-certification.

Find out more about sick notes on the NHS website.
